Data ILG | Te Whata’s new feature: Iwi Areas of Interest
“He whata kai, he whata kōrero, inā he māramatanga. Data as a tool for deliberation, sustenance and wellbeing.” To give effect to this whakataukī in a pragmatic way, the Te Whata platform - developed by Te Kāhui Raraunga/Data ILG is constantly innovating and adding kai to enable wānanga, insights and wellbeing for Iwi, hapū and whānau.
In the last three months we’ve unveiled two exciting new features: Iwi Areas of Interest and the Hauora Hub. These additions not only enhance the user experience but also expand what information is available to Iwi to inform decision making and storytelling. In this article we’ll focus on the Iwi Areas of Interest feature.
Iwi Areas of Interest
Te Whata is excited to roll out this next feature that has been in development for some time, the Iwi areas of interest. Users can explore their ancestral lands and sites, based on information provided by various agencies, including The Māori Land Court, Land Information NZ, Te Arawhiti, Te Puni Kōkiri and DOC.
